The Legacy of Festival for the Future

Building on a Decade of Innovation, Leadership, and Social Impact

Legacy of Festival for the Future
From a Foundation of a Decade of Innovation, Leadership, and Social Impact

For more than a decade, Festival For the Future was the leading gathering in New Zealand for young leaders, social entrepreneurs, and visionaries. Since the festival’s beginnings in 2011, it had been an integral piece of the Asia-Pacific community, founded on the belief that the young have the ability to make the world a different and better place.

“A Hub for Global Visionaries”
It was known for having world-class speakers and mentors who shared valuable insights about leadership, sustainability, and future business. We proudly acknowledge here the invaluable contributions that our former esteemed speakers and leaders brought on our stages through these years and include:

  • Traci Houpapa: Award-winning company director and advisor.

  • Melissa Clark-Reynolds: Renowned foresight practitioner and entrepreneur.

  • John Fitzgerald & Lisa McLaren: Advocates for climate action and community resilience.

  • Abi Symes: And many other emerging leaders who moved the needle on social change.

Through their talks and workshops, these individuals helped spark a movement of “impact-led” entrepreneurship that continues to influence New Zealand’s business landscape today.

Commemorating the Past, Building the Future

As we embark on this new journey, we do so in reverence for what the festival’s history represents. “Programme” was always more than just an events list, it was always a guide to a brighter future. From the 2019 summit through all of our digital turns, we have seen that through collaboration, innovation will thrive.
